A few years ago the movie The Secret popularized the concept of the Law of Attraction. Pretty much it was saying that if what you hold in your mind will naturally be attracted by some mystical forces. Is this truth or fiction?
Once I pondered that question I tried to find some great work of art, architecture, science, athletics, or business that was achieved without intention or vision. Of course, hard work, practice, and effort were normally part of the equation. However, I could not find one single example of any achievement that did not start with a spark of an idea. The Biblical saying, “Ask and you shall receive” seems to have a lot of merit.
Again, does the idea or concept of merely thinking about an achievement mystically make it appear? Is this like magic created by some wish-granting genie? Frankly, my attitude here is “who really cares?” I am satisfied with the conclusion that an idea always precedes great achievement. So, this should give a warning to you that you must carefully guard your thoughts. What you visualize may become a reality. Why does this happen?
When you think of an action – such as lifting a cup off of the table – the associated parts of your brain are activated. The activation of the appropriate muscles and following sensory feedback then occur. Note here that the process starts with your mind.
When you think about your goals, the same thing happens. The necessary parts of your brain kick in. What you are doing is preparing your mind to become receptive to opportunities and possibilities around you. Considering the fact that there is a tremendous level of wealth flowing around us and that all energy that ever existed in the universe is still present, what we are doing is merely changing our brain to become in tune and receptive to the endless possibilities.
Opening up your brain for the possibilities around you is the focus of my Harness the Law of Attraction CD and MP3 sessions.
